Up-Front Kansai group, SI☆NA has announced that they are going to disband after their final performance on April 17th.
Back in April 2009, the unit was formed and consisted of winners from the Hello! Project Kansai Audition 2005. Although they debuted three years ago, the group hasn’t released anything; only appearing on television shows and radio shows and small live performances.
[According to the message published on both their Hello! Project page and their official blog, the group decided to disband due to differences in opinion and an implied dissatisfaction with the way SI☆NA was headed in terms of activities. After talking with their management, the girls have decided to part ways and focus on their own individual activities. No word has been given on exactly what the members plan to do following the dissolution of SI☆NA, but fans of the group can be assured that their activities will be reported as soon as concrete information is available.
SI☆NA also announced that they would be canceling their performance at the “KANSAI Idol GENKI Festa” event on March 27th, and will be offering ticket refunds to any fans who no longer plan to attend. The group can be heard for a final time at their “TANOSINA STAGE,” which will be held on April 17th. (Got this from Tokyohive) ]
It’s not surprising that the group decided to disband, as they have not been doing any activities as a proper group. Ex-Up-Front Kansai and SI☆NA, Nakayama Nana, graduated saying she wants to continue her studies, but then joins AKB48’s sister group, NMB48 and is now doing well and better than before. She even adopted a stage name when she joined NMB48 - Yamada Nana.
Although it’s not surprising, it’s still a sad announcement for all. There might be some fans hoping for an official release of sorts, but since none was made, hopefully they can attend their last performance.
Congratulations and good luck, SI☆NA!
